   There are many mediums that I have tried but in my experience sometimes the success of the application relies on the materials which is a partnering of substrate and mark making tools. So in test-driving a new sketchbook I tried gouache (nope) then colored pencil (not so much). Then just to be sure it was not me, I tried the colored pencil on a different paper. So my quest to find the right medium for this sketchbook continues...
