A friend invited me to join her for a Cinco de Mayo party this weekend. Unfortunately (for the hostess) the outdoor party had to move indoors but she never missed a beat in creating a warm welcoming atmosphere for all her guests. The incredible food was only an addition to the rooms filled with smiles and laughter. After running through the rain to grab my sketchbook from the car, I had the pleasure of witnessing in sketching a few fleeting moments. I tried to stay in stealth mode, as not to be the "weido artist guest" but of course the kids ratted me out to the adults (their parents) with their enthusiasm and curiosity as to what I was doing. It was a pleasure and one daughter even got the special treatment of me being sharing a few past page drawings. The sun may have been masked in rainy clouds but thanks to Michelle, inside it was sunny and warm.
