My plan was to invest in the inkwell series... take an inkwell and put it into a still life setting (inkwell-writing utensil-material to write on/in), divide a sheet of paper into 4 sections and do different set ups with the same items and use a different medium each time. Good exercise for more sustained drawings practice. So since the last effort lent to frustration of working in a smaller format (1/4 sheet), I decided to go full sheet on this project. Furthermore, instead of doing a pencil drawing, I thought I would try with the graphite powder to tone the paper and work out of it. Good intentions but as life would have it, my time limit didn't match my efforts so I had to tear down the still life before the drawing was even somewhat realized. Calling it a "sketch" make the wasted piece of paper almost tolerable for me but I won't try this outside of studio environment again.
And so the week went... on and on with unsuccessfull drawings, sketches, studies. This still life sketch of which I didn't even take seriously enough to do outside a small sketchbook. Oh well...
