Week#29: A funny thing happened at the winery the other day.

As so often I do, I pulled out my sketchbook when I was doing a wine tasting the other night. The scenery is usually interesting and often lends to a sweet little still life but on this particular night they had a classical guitarist who could play some incredible Spanish guitar. I pulled out my sketchbook, found an empty opposing page and began to scribble with a pen. My eyes were so bad that I left to go check the car for my glasses. No luck but I did try a 2nd sketch. 4 samples later (after an additional 4 samples across the street at the other winery) the musician finished his set and (before the entire wine tasting audience) asked to see the sketch. He must have had a few more than my 8 samplings and saw something in the drawing because not only did he rave about his enjoyment of the sketch but he also dedicated a song to me and asked me to do his next album cover. "Sure." I replied and gave him a business card... who knows?
