Variety is the spice of life.

4- up 3.5x 5.5ish -micron pen
I often don't have the time (sometimes not sure of the interest) or want to waste the heavy weight watercolor paper (240 lb) page to do a full page study in the sketchbook. In that instance I divide the lightweight sheets (60-80 lb) in between the heavier paper in 1/4s so I can do a quick mini study. As I am finishing a book I look back through the pages and found the "4-up" pages fascinating by their sheer variety.
From upper right to follow clockwise: The stuff on the fence at the History Harbor Museum(Gig Harbor), Robin's paint demo (Whitbey Island), people having lunch at the car show(Poulsbo), Inside the Shanandoah (Gig Harbor).
